The creator of the boxed boyfriends is actually happily married and the mother of two children. She came up with the idea after cruising some chat rooms on the Internet where all of the single people were trying to hook up with each other.
Even though she intended for the “Boyfriend In-A-Box” idea to be a funny, tongue-in-cheek item, she ended up selling over 200,000! She forgot about the idea until she was contacted by Hollywood who wanted to turn the concept into a movie.
