Last year about this time, I was in a swimming/spa store and saw an amazingly simple product I did some research about this product and here’s what I found: The creator of this product has made a fortune by making one of her favorite pastimes more enjoyable for others.
At one time, the owner was frustrated because she couldn’t swim more than a couple of strokes in her small pool before she had to turn around. She decided to do something about her problem and called up pool, sauna, and fitness stores to see if they had a device that would let her swim in a small pool, but no one had ever heard of anything like that. So she decided to invent something herself.
She created a simple product using a couple of straps to allow her to stay stationary in the pool while swimming and get her exercise.
The creator never intended on selling her creation for money, but once she saw how well her device worked for herself, she started showing it to others. After the initial success, they added several variations of the original version and the business is going swimmingly. This is a great example of someone taking one of life’s annoying problems, finding a solution for it, and creating a winning product.
